My friends and I decided to venture out of Manhattan and try this local place in Astoria. We were all very impressed with the food, service and ambiance. The inside was so warm and inviting. I felt like I was transported to a backyard BBQ in the south. The rustic interior with the strings of fairy lights gave it an intimate feel. The background music was perfect as it was not too loud and appropriate for daytime dining. The bathrooms are located in the basement level and were fairly tidy. We sat inside, however, there is an outdoor terrace with a huge lighted sign that says QUEENS! We went for a celebratory Easter bottomless brunch and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Our server was a very hospitable young lady from Arkansas who remained friendly and professional at the same time. Perfectly balanced for a staff member. She kept our mimosa glasses full for the entire 2 hours as we never had to get her attention to do so. Top notch service indeed. The food was ABSOLUTELY incredible. I had the spinach and cheddar omelette and it arrived hot right off the grill. I totally appreciated that it was served HOT and not luke warm or cold. It was oozing with cheese and seasonings which was delightful in my mouth. My friends ordered the shrimp and polenta which also was quite divine. Polenta definitely had a wonderful spiced Cajun flair to it that was nostalgic of home to me. The bell of the ball was the Brunch Burger. A colossal creation piled high with ingredients and completely worth every bite. Overall, Sekend Sun is definitely a place I would patronize again. I have had a few non positive experiences in Manhattan and my experience here has opened my eyes to the other boroughs. An outstanding first impression was had and I recommend trying this neighborhood gem.

Came here on a rainy day for weekend brunch. Disclaimer: I used a pulsd pass which imo was worth it! The mimosas were so refreshing. My French toast dish was just okay...was hoping for a fluffier texture. My partner enjoyed his burger. It was incredibly easy to find seating as I guess not many people come here for brunch. I'll definitely be back in the evening for a drink but not really sure if I'll come back for brunch.

This is one of the best local bars in Astoria. I go in at least once or twice a week. Usually I'm in for trivia on Mondays, which is by far the best in the neighborhood. The host is amazing and the staff really go all out for it. They usually have drink specials and fun bonus prizes (even when you don't win at trivia). They have happy hour from 4-7 on the weekends and 5-7 on weekdays but have daily specials as well. I've become friends with so many of the bartenders here because they are so friendly and nice. They food is great and really well priced, especially when food prices seem to be rising. I like the brunch a lot too. We've gone with some gluten free friends a lot, and I'm vegetarian, and we all always leave happy. Love this place!

This place gives you trendy bar meets restaurant. The service is really good and the bottomless brunch in terms of the alcohol is very good. The brunch burger got re-reviews from my friend. However, the chicken sandwich had all three elements but it lacked flavor. The fries were good. The waitress was super nice and friendly.

Come here often for trivia and gotta say this is one of my favorite places in Astoria, if not the whole city. To start off Kat, our bartender / server always has the best service, getting our orders in quickly and making sure we always have water and full drinks. The food here is always a hit. Our favorite is definitely the loaded tots, but you can't really go wrong with anything. The sekend sun IPA is my go to drink but also they have always have some kind of seasonal or specialty drink that's always changing. Last time they had a barbie cocktail for the movie! We've also come for brunch and their mimosa flight is also a great way to get a buzz going for a good price along with their great food. Overall, a great place in the neighborhood with a ton of daily specials. Will continue to show up here!

Last Sunday evening, I walked in to treat a friend for her birthday. The drinks were good. Strong. I had really good service, and I enjoyed the time here. The music was top 40 and R & B from the 90's so I already loved the vibe. Later in the evening, they had an impromptu salsa class. I love dancing! That made it even more fun to visit. I heard it's every 2nd Sunday evening a month. Let's see.

Conveniently located near the subway, good staff and ambiance and drinks. I love the back patio! Finally got to check out the Tuesday burger special as well as the margarita special - both are great! Even though I've been here a bunch of times I can't resist taking photos of the Queens themed neon signs.
